Our little MONKEY!!

It's finally happened. I've been waiting for this to happen for a while now, but was very grateful that it took so long! So last night after a very rough mother's day for Jayden we tried to put him to bed at 8, thinking he was so ready to go. (We have never been really good at a bedtime, he's been a late owl just like us. So it's difficult when we try to put him to bed early sometimes!) So Chris rocked him, (yes we are still rocking him every time he goes to sleep) for 30 minutes, I took Jennilyn upstairs to put her to bed. When I heard Jayden crying after 30 minutes, and Jennilyn was still crying I thought maybe we should switch and see how that worked. So I rocked Jayden and within 15 minutes he was out. YAY! So I took him to his crib and right as I laid him down, as he does very often, he woke up. I was so frustrated already because neither of my kids would sleep, I just needed a break. So I just walked out and decided to let him cry for a few minutes and HOPEFULLY he would just fall back asleep! Well that didn't happen, so after 15 minutes we heard him throw everything out of his crib, as he does so often. Then all the sudden I heard the door handle move. My first thought was to freak out and go save my child from this crazy pshyco person who had just broke into our house, but as I was running to Jayden's room I thought, I wonder if that is just my child. Well sure enough, there was Jayden tears rolling down his cheeks, kitty and pillow in hand, and dashing out the door. I caught him and just started laughing. Chris was right behind me and we just had to see how he climbed out of his crib. So we put him back in and he showed us how he mastered the crib! It is quite amazing so I had to video it. He was having a little too much fun with the camera on him though, so it took a while to get him to actually climb out. So at 6am this morning Chris heard Jayden calling "daddy, makai" (Which is milk) and Chris went into his room to find him and there was no little boy there. He was on the stairs going to the fridge to get a drink. This is going to make our lives a little more exciting.. We need to teach this kid to sleep all night long and that should solve most of the problem. But here is the video! Enjoy our little Monkey!

That is cute! at least the first time he climbed out it was a climb and not an attempted climb but fall. He's really good at that. Good luck

Oh man! Good luck with that. I still rocked Kayla to sleep until she was 18 months old. I finally couldn't do it anymore and we started on Monday letting her cry it out. It took a LONG time on Monday but each day got shorter and by Friday she went right to sleep. It was a long week. But she couldn't climb out! Good luck!

Such a little Character! I hope that you were able to get some rest after your MOTHER'S day! I can't believe he is able to climb out so good! Ashton was closer to 2 1/2 before he tried to climb out. He still sleeps in his crib though. Mostly for convenience! He can get out when he wants to, but he doesn't always get out. GOOD LUCK! :O) Thanks for the kiss Jayden!
